Fire department successfully puts out garage blaze in Delhoven
In the early hours of August 4, the Dormagen Fire Department was called to respond to a fire in Delhoven. The blaze was located in a garage annex situated on the main street of the town. Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed in flames.
Initially, firefighting efforts were conducted from the outside to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings. The roof of the structure was opened as part of the firefighting efforts to ensure the fire did not spread further.
The presence of double wood paneling hindered the firefighting efforts, making it necessary for the teams to remove these panels to extinguish all hotspots. Despite the challenges, no injuries were reported during the incident.
A total of 45 personnel from Delhoven, Hackenbroich, Straberg, Nievenheim, and the main office units were present at the scene. To support the operation, the city center fire station on Kieler Street was staffed by a fire engine.
The incident was declared over by 02:15, marking the successful conclusion of a collaborative effort by local fire departments. Records and reports from the fire department, such as the incident log or dispatch records, can be consulted to determine which fire company the fire chief was with during the fire in Delhoven.
This incident serves as a reminder of the important role our local fire departments play in keeping our communities safe. We extend our gratitude to all the firefighters who bravely responded to the call on that fateful night.
