Fire Department's Tönisvorst Jubilee Celebration Honored

Volunteer Fire Department Members Honoured in Toenisvorst

The city of Toenisvorst recently held an assembly to honour members of its Volunteer Fire Department, recognising the dedication and service of several long-standing members.

The event, which took place in front of two fire engines, honorary departments, the music corps, and the youth fire department, was opened by Jens Griese. He was followed by Mayor Uwe Leuchtenberg, who expressed his thanks to the fire department for their tireless work.

Among those honoured were Peter Grabowsky, Karl-Heinz Heintges, Christoph Kohnen, and Dusan Plohl, who were presented with certificates for 40 years of service in the volunteer fire department. Heinz Gentges and Albert Roesges were honoured with the state award for 25 years of service.

However, the day belonged to a very special jubilarian, Ferdinand Löcher, who was honoured for 60 years of membership in the volunteer fire department. Löcher's long-standing commitment was also recognised with a special award.

Friedel Plage was honoured for being a member of the blue shirts in Toenisvorst for 50 years, while Stefan Mersmann and Marvin Frohn were presented with certificates for 10 years of membership in the fire department. Frank Meier was honoured for 35 years of service to the citizens by the fire chief.

After the honorees were applauded, Jens Griese thanked each individual for their commitment. The official part of the event was closed with the fire department's motto "God for honor, the next for defense".
