Fire Engagement in the Northern District of Dortmund
In an unexpected turn of events, a fire broke out at a youth welfare facility in Dortmund's North district, specifically at Oesterholzstraße, at 17:00 on an unspecified day. The Dortmund Fire Department swiftly responded to the incident, deploying a team of 60 firefighters from fire stations 25, 29, 1 (city center), 2 (Eving), the command unit, the psychological support team (PSNV), and the emergency services.
Upon arrival, all residents of the building were safely evacuated. Initially, one person was reported missing but was later found unharmed. The fire originated in several waste bins in the backyard of the facility, and due to its intensity, smoke spread to adjacent buildings, requiring extensive ventilation with high-performance fans.
The source of this information is the Fire Department Dortmund, transmitted via news aktuell (Source: ots). The fire spread to the building's facade, but thanks to the efforts of the firefighters, it was successfully extinguished using several hoses.
Currently, the cause of the fire is under investigation by the criminal police. The available search results do not provide the name of the investigation leader (Vorwurfsuntersuchungsleiter) who is determining the cause of the fire.
The youth welfare facility houses 57 people who will be temporarily accommodated in other parts of the building. For further information, visit Dortmund.de/feuerwehr. For further inquiries, contact the Fire Department Dortmund Duty Officer Detlev Klein at 0231/8455000 or email [email protected].
