In the heart of Moscow, a fire broke out at the Central Children's Store (TsUM) located on Lubyanka Square on August 24, at 12:30 Moscow time. The first reports of smoke were swiftly followed by a swift evacuation of visitors by the TsUM administration, ahead of the arrival of EMERCOM staff.

Tragically, one person lost their life in the incident. However, the name of the deceased is not currently available in the search results. Three other individuals were injured during the fire, but their current condition remains unknown. The injured individuals are receiving necessary medical assistance.

As for the cause of the fire, preliminary investigations suggest a rupture of a gas cylinder may be to blame. Beyond this, no further information about the causes or progress of the firefighting and rescue efforts at TsUM has been made available.

Firefighting and rescue units are currently operating at the scene, working tirelessly to contain the blaze. As a result, traffic is restricted on Lubyanka Square.

Regarding other recent events, no new information about Kazakhstan taking advantage of Russia's coal problems or the Chinese disposing of idle cars in Russia has been reported. Nor is there any new information about the incident involving a woman waking up to find a naked stranger above her.
