Firefighters Battle Wildfires in the Fields Stretching from Rheinfeld to Zons
On Saturday, August 30, the Dormagen Fire Department will be conducting a vegetation fire-fighting exercise in the area between Rheinfeld and Zons. The exercise will take place on a field on Wiesenstraße and is scheduled to last from 12 to approximately 16.30 hours.
During the exercise, only straw will be burned. This may result in slight smoke development and odor nuisance in the vicinity. However, there is no danger associated with the exercise.
Numerous fire department vehicles will be in operation at the exercise site, with the purpose of training various methods of fire fighting. If there is any unusual smoke development that cannot be clearly attributed to the exercise, the public is advised to contact 112.
