Firefighters from Bonn, Düsseldorf, Leverkusen, Königswinter, and Ratingen headed to Spain to battle ongoing forest fires
The German Forest Fire Module, which was deployed in the village of San Ciprian, south of La Baña, on August 26, 2025, has successfully completed its mission. The unit, which was on standby while the village was evacuated on the same day, worked alongside Spanish special forces and numerous firefighting aircraft and helicopters to mitigate the threat to the village.
