Firefighters successfully extricate four individuals from a blaze in FW Hannover.

A fire broke out in a multi-family home in the Herrenhausen district of Hannover on [date]. The Hannover Fire Department was quickly on the scene, with two fire engines from the professional fire department, the rescue service, and around 50 personnel in attendance.

The Regional Control Centre Hannover dispatched the necessary resources at 09:42, in response to smoke coming from the multi-family home. Initial reports indicated that several residents were still inside the building, leading to an increase in the deployment of rescue resources.

Upon arrival, two breathing apparatus teams with hoses found burning rubbish in the basement and promptly extinguished the fire. Four residents, including an infant, were rescued via an aerial ladder due to smoke in the stairwell. Tragically, one resident was unable to escape on their own, and another managed to escape on their own. After initial treatment at the scene, three residents were taken to hospitals.

The "mass casualty incident" code was triggered due to the expected high number of injuries. The police will investigate the cause of the fire, and the exact damage cannot be determined at this time.
