FWD Group Holdings Ltd., a leading pan-Asian life insurance company, has reported impressive financial results for the first half of 2023. The company's shares have been on an upward trajectory, with a 3.2% increase to HK$44.04 late in the trading day on Friday.
The highlight of the report is a 38% year-on-year increase in new business sales, amounting to $1.25 billion. This significant growth is a testament to the company's robust performance and expanding customer base.
The company's net profit also reached a record $47 million, marking a strong financial position. The operating profit after tax climbed 9% to $251 million, further underscoring the company's financial health.
Huynh Thanh Phong, the Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of FWD Group Holdings Ltd., has expressed the company's intention to use the IPO proceeds to enhance the company's capital position and financial flexibility. The proceeds may be utilised to reduce debt, support further growth, expand customer reach, improve digital capabilities, and develop new channels.
The company's success can be attributed to its strong presence in markets such as Hong Kong and Macao, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, and others. These markets have contributed positively to the company's profits in the first half of 2023.
