Five illicit businesses and weapons were confiscated in Baixa de Faro

In the early hours of Friday, the Faro District Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) led an Operation of Criminal Prevention in the Lower Town of Faro. The operation, aimed at increasing the feeling of security for all citizens, focused on suppressing offenses associated with nighttime leisure and preventing the possession of weapons.

The authorities notified a foreign citizen to regularize their situation in national territory and conducted inspections of commercial establishments. The operation involved various aspects of police intervention, including checking the conditions of residence of foreign citizens in national territory.

During the operation, two prohibited weapons were seized, and 60 traffic offense reports were registered. One report was related to drug-related offenses, and five reports were related to the irregular operation of establishments. The authorities plan to reinforce their presence in public spaces and continue their commitment to criminal prevention.

In a separate incident at Feira de Monte Abraão, a man was arrested after shooting another. This incident is not directly related to the Operation of Criminal Prevention. The operation aimed to detect serious offenses against the Highway Code and prevent the possession of weapons in public, as well as to prevent drug trafficking and consumption.
