Flower artists astonish World Cup spectators with extraordinary designs!

The World Cup of Floral Art is currently underway in The Hague, attracting top floral designers from around the globe. This week-long event, organised by Florint and the Royal Dutch Florist Association (VBW), showcases unparalleled creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation in the world of floral design.

The competition consists of multiple tasks, each designed to challenge the artistry, technical skills, and storytelling abilities of floral designers. The first task, Task 1, draws inspiration from the Dutch tulip vase. Competitors have 120 minutes to create a free-style design for this task, with the design featuring at least three vertical sections, built to last at least four days, and not exceed certain dimensions.

Each piece will be judged by an international panel of expert jurors, using the International 100-Points System for evaluation. This system assesses four main criteria: Idea, Color, Composition, and Technique. Notably, the 100-Point System is now fully digital, ensuring a fair and efficient judging process.

One of the jurors, Marios Vallianos from Greece, has expressed deep admiration for the designs in Task 1. The competition promises to showcase the best of floral artistry, with participants from countries including the United States, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Belgium, Japan, Germany, Croatia, China, Netherlands, Norway, Estonia, Armenia, Republic of Korea, France, Romania, Latin America, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic.

Beyond Task 1, the World Cup competitors will face a total of six challenging floral design assignments. The event culminates in a theatrical finale on Saturday, August 30, where the new World Champion will be crowned.

For those interested, purchasing a ticket for the upcoming days via the official World Cup Website offers a rare chance to connect with leading designers and experience world-class floral artistry up close.
