Following an altercation involving the use of a shield, a BPOLI MD faces imprisonment.
In an incident that transpired early on the morning of August 20, 2025, a 43-year-old Afghan man was arrested by the Federal Police in Halle (Saale).
The man was apprehended at around 1:05 AM near the main station, after Federal Police officers noticed him kicking a German Railway sign. During the course of verifying his personal details, they discovered an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Halle (Saale) seven days prior.
The man had been sentenced in May 2023 for threats and theft, with a fine of 1080 euros or 90 days of imprisonment. However, he failed to pay the outstanding amount of 408 euros, resulting in a warrant for his arrest.
The authority that issued the warrant was duly informed about the execution of the arrest warrant. The man was subsequently taken to the Federal Police's premises at Halle (Saale) main station and will serve the remaining 34 days of his imprisonment.
