Expressing amazement at Bayer Leverkusen's surprising performance - Foodstuff labeling directive yet to be proposed by the Commission across EU member states.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen is currently navigating a period of change, following the unexpected departure of coach Erik ten Hag after just two Bundesliga games. The Dutchman's dismissal, which came after a promising 3:1 lead against Werder Bremen, has left the club in a state of flux.

Ten Hag's tenure at Leverkusen was fraught with challenges, including communication problems and a lack of a clear philosophy. His departure is the fastest in the Bundesliga in a long time, and it is widely believed that it could hinder sporting success for the club.

The hasty dismissal has not gone unnoticed, with Bayer's CEO Fernando Carro and sporting director Simon Rolfes admitting their mistakes. They ended Ten Hag's contract on Monday, following a string of poor performances that saw the team concede a late goal against Werder Bremen, resulting in a 3:3 draw.

The club leadership's search for a new coach is particularly important, given the need for stability in the team. Kasper Hjulmand has been appointed as Ten Hag's successor, signing a contract until 2027 and officially presented by the club.

The departure of Ten Hag comes at a time when Leverkusen is also dealing with the loss of several key players, including Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Granit Xhaka, and Jonathan Tah, who have all left the club this summer. These departures, coupled with the sale of key players for top offers, are understandable reasons for Leverkusen's current situation.

The table at the moment does not indicate much in terms of the Bundesliga standings, except that Bayern Munich is likely to remain the undisputed champions. Leverkusen's new signings are still adjusting to their new team, and it remains to be seen how they will perform under the new leadership.

As Leverkusen enters this period of transition, the club leadership is under scrutiny for their quick dismissal of Ten Hag and their search for a new coach. Many believe that they should have given Ten Hag more time, especially during the international break. The club will need to tread carefully to ensure a smooth transition and secure a promising future for Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
