Forecast: Real Madrid Face-Off Against RCD Mallorca

Real Madrid, currently among five La Liga teams to have taken maximum points from their opening two fixtures, will be aiming to extend their winning streak when they face Mallorca this weekend.

The Spanish giants have a strong record against Mallorca, winning 46 out of 75 previous meetings. Their latest victory was a 3-0 triumph against Real Oviedo, with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior scoring twice and once respectively. Vinicius is expected to return to the starting lineup for Real Madrid, while Jude Bellingham, Endrick, Ferland Mendy, and Eduardo Camavinga are unavailable due to injury.

Mallorca, on the other hand, are currently 16th in the La Liga standings, having collected only one point from their opening two fixtures. They suffered a 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in their first game of the season, and earned a 1-1 draw against Celta Vigo in their second, with Mateu Morey scoring the equalizer in the 87th minute.

Sergi Darder and Toni Lato are expected to retain their places in Mallorca's squad, with Lato potentially being deployed in a midfield role. Vedat Muriqi and Manu Morlanes return to Mallorca's squad after serving suspensions. Pablo Torre, a new summer signing from Barcelona, is likely to take up the number 10 role for Mallorca.

Mallorca have not defeated Real Madrid in a league game since May 2009. Real Madrid completed a league double over Mallorca last season, including a 2-1 triumph at the Bernabeu. Antonio Rudiger is pushing to retain his center-back spot for Real Madrid, with Dani Carvajal potentially starting at right-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold as an alternative.

Victory over Real Madrid this weekend could significantly improve Mallorca's league position, but the odds are against them given their current form and Real Madrid's impressive history against them. Regardless, it promises to be an exciting match-up in the Spanish top flight.
