In a heartfelt and poignant turn of events, pop star Stefanie Hertel stepped in as the host of the popular ARD show "Every Sunday, Again and Again" on Sunday, following the absence of her ex-husband, Stefan Mross, due to family reasons.

The live show, broadcast from an open-air stage in Rust, southern Baden-Württemberg, was the second-to-last of the current season. This year, 12 live shows are being produced in Rust's Europa-Park for the show, which regularly attracts a million-strong audience.

The format of "Every Sunday, Again and Again" is known for its lively and engaging atmosphere, and Stefanie Hertel did not disappoint. She expressed empathy for Stefan Mross' grief during the show, as well as thoughts for his family, following the unexpected passing of his mother, Stefanie Mross, on August 20, 2025, at the age of 85 in Upper Bavaria.

Stefanie Mross had been suffering from dementia and was living in a nursing home at the time of her death. She had a very close relationship with her son, Stefan Mross, who recently spoke about her illness and visited her regularly.

Stefanie Hertel's appearance on the show was at the request of Stefan Mross, who was unable to host due to family reasons. Singer Uta Bresan (60) supported Stefanie Hertel during her hosting of the show.

Stefanie Hertel made her first television appearance in 1985 on the DDR TV show "Oberhofer Bauernmarkt". She was married to Stefan Mross for 5 years before their divorce in December 2012. The couple were together for 17 years.

Meanwhile, the new season for ASV Hamm-Westfalen has started with a derby win, adding to the excitement and anticipation for the upcoming weeks. The shop thief who jumped into the Datteln-Hamm canal during an incident was not mentioned during the live broadcast of "Every Sunday, Again and Again".
