Forty educational initiatives slated for execution across Russian universities within the next eleven years.

In a significant stride towards educational and scientific development, Russia is embarking on an ambitious project to construct 11 world-class university campuses across the nation. Four of these campuses, in Chelyabinsk, Kaliningrad, Ufa, and Novosibirsk, have already begun partial commissioning.

The largest investments are expected in the Volga, Far Eastern, and Central federal districts, with investments of 158 billion, 148 billion, and 133 billion rubles respectively. This investment is part of a larger plan to complete 25 campuses with a total investment of over 734 billion rubles in the next six years.

One of the most anticipated projects is the Chelyabinsk Interuniversity Campus, scheduled for completion in 2027. VTB Infrastructure Holding is spearheading the implementation of this project, which will span a total area of 123,000 square meters and unite seven regional universities. The campus will feature student and teacher hotels, an educational-scientific complex, and an administrative-business center.

The Chelyabinsk State University is an integral part of this project, contributing to its development and growth. The first campus for the MGTU named after N.E. Bauman in Moscow is also expected to be completed in 2024.

The program to create world-class university campuses in Russia has 40 projects planned by 2036, with 15 new campuses planned in the Volga, Far Eastern, and Central federal districts. These campuses are expected to contribute to the development of education and strengthen the scientific potential of regions.

According to a study by VTB Infrastructure Holding for the World Economic Forum-2025, each ruble invested in the construction of university campuses in Russia generates an additional ruble in related project investments. This could potentially lead to investment inflows of up to 1.4-1.6 trillion rubles, with interaction with industrial infrastructure increasing this figure to 2.2-2.25 trillion rubles.

The "Campuses-2030" review further emphasises the importance of active company involvement in shaping the campus concept to achieve the highest multiplier effect. This involvement allows the campus to become a supplier of in-demand talent and innovations, further boosting the economy.

In conclusion, the construction of these university campuses in Russia is more than just a building project. It represents a commitment to education, scientific development, and economic growth. As these campuses are completed and operationalised, they are expected to play a significant role in shaping the future of Russia's education system and economy.
