Fugitive assailant recovering after sustaining wounds
In the Sauerland region of Menden, a tragic incident occurred involving a 49-year-old Turkish man who was shot. The victim, currently out of immediate danger, was airlifted to a specialist clinic following the incident.
According to Annika Berg, spokesperson for the Arnsberg public prosecutor's office, the incident is under investigation. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
A public alert has been issued for the suspect, who is a 40-year-old man living in Menden and holds Serbian-Montenegrin citizenship. The suspect's identity and motive remain undisclosed, with no further details provided.
Interestingly, the woman arrested at the scene is the suspect's wife, but she has since been released. It's worth noting that the woman who was arrested is a 40-year-old, not the same as the suspect.
The incident is not isolated, as the suspected perpetrator is related to an ongoing investigation by a 44-member special commission. Human remains were found in a suitcase in Filderstadt, Baden-Württemberg, but no specific identity or group affiliation has been publicly confirmed yet.
