Indian Food-and-Beverage Brand DOBRA Secures Seed Funding
DOBRA, a pioneering Indian food-and-beverage brand, has announced that it has raised Rs 1.5 crore in a seed funding round. The funding round was led by the D2C Insider Super Angels Fund, with participation from leading D2C founders and operators.
With this fresh capital, DOBRA aims to strengthen its operations and expand its presence across India. The brand, which is a part of Oxbow Brands, is known for its unique product line that includes reinvented Pop Goli Soda, Artisanal Cotton Candy, and Tapioca Crisps. These products are designed to evoke childhood memories while delivering a premium, contemporary taste.
DOBRA also plans to expand its product line-up and deepen consumer trial in preparation for the next stage of growth. The company's goals include capturing the growing demand for premium, experience-led Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) products in India's $170 billion sector.
Abishek Shah, Partner at D2C Insider, believes DOBRA's ability to blend authentic Indian flavors with a modern, premium format is what Indian consumers are looking for today. Rahul Johar, Co-founder of Oxbow Brands, stated that the funding is not just capital, but an endorsement from people who understand scaling consumer brands in India.
The investment will be used to expand DOBRA across offline modern retail and food services. It will also be used to expand DOBRA's presence on digital channels of quick commerce and direct-to-consumer (D2C). DOBRA is laying the groundwork for future international expansion.
The D2C Super Angels bring battle-tested insights from building category-defining consumer brands in India. With this strategic partnership, DOBRA is poised to make a significant impact in the Indian food-and-beverage market.
