Funds Allocated for establishing a novel youth training initiative by the Commission.
The City of Essen is inviting young, engaged residents aged between 18 and 27 to apply for the "Ehrenamtsstipendium für junge Engagierte." This annual stipend, worth €150 per month for a year, is designed to support and encourage the involvement of young individuals in community activities.
To be eligible, applicants must be active members of a club, association, or similar institution based in Essen. They must also be either in school, vocational training, studying, or doing a voluntary social year in 2026. Applicants cannot already be receiving other funding such as the Deutschlandstipendium.
The application period for the stipend is open until 31 October 2025. Interested individuals can register and submit their applications via the city portal's website at www.our website/ehrenamtsstipendium.
The allocation of the stipends will be done through a lottery after the application period. Recipients will maintain regular contact with the city portal's Civil Participation and Volunteer Affairs department, and regular contact with the city portal is also part of the stipend.
In addition to the financial support, stipend recipients will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and expand their personal network. This is a unique chance to connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to the community in a meaningful way.
