Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil Embraces Responsible Gaming Initiatives

Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil, the company behind popular betting platforms Esportes da Sorte and Onabet, is leading the charge in responsible gaming practices within the Brazilian betting market. The company's comprehensive approach aims to embed player protection into its organisational culture and operational practices.

The cornerstone of these initiatives is a strong internal culture that promotes physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing, diversity, ethics, and customer focus. This culture is reinforced through a mandatory internal training program called "Learn to Protect," attended by 600 employees. The program, led by expert institutions such as the Instituto de Apoio ao Apostador (IAA) and the Empresa Brasileira de Apoio ao Compulsivo (EBAC), includes workshops on simulating real risk cases, recognising signs of risk, and adopting international support protocols. The content from the program has become mandatory e-learning for the team, with refreshers every six months.

Ana Carolina Luna Maçães, the newly appointed manager at Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil, will oversee and strengthen these initiatives. The company has also launched a Code of Ethics and Conduct, outlining five core principles: integrity, respect for people, privacy, responsible gaming, and compliance. This code applies to employees, suppliers, and partners alike.

In line with Brazil’s new gambling law, operators are required to demonstrate preventive measures against gambling addiction, provide support channels, and self-exclusion mechanisms. Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil has integrated these requirements into its framework. Machine learning models monitor dozens of behavioural variables to identify potential issues and trigger conscious gambling alerts. These alerts offer instant deposit limits or self-exclusion options when risk is detected.

The company's proactive approach extends to the prevention of match-fixing. Over the past two months, Grupo Esportes Gaming Brasil hosted the Match-Fixing Prevention Forum for clubs including Náutico, Ceará, and Corinthians. High-risk alerts are individually handled by a support team trained in active listening to better engage with users.

The goal of these initiatives is to share this knowledge with the market to protect those who bet, with a strong culture, rigorous compliance, and continuous education. The Brazilian betting market moves over R$12 billion annually, according to estimates from the Ministry of Finance, making responsible gaming practices crucial for the industry's sustainability and growth.
