Long-running simulation games, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, developed by Czech studio SCS Software, have made a surprise appearance on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store, signaling their long-awaited console debuts.

The games, which have garnered a significant following on PC due to their detailed recreations of real-world trucking, are confirmed to come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. However, no official release date has been announced as of yet; the launch is expected to take place in 2025, with further details to be revealed around Gamescom or shortly thereafter.

Both games feature faithfully modeled cabins, licensed rigs, and vast, detailed maps of Europe and the United States. The move to console represents a significant milestone for SCS Software and the simulation genre.

As for the console versions, no release dates or pricing details have been disclosed. Additionally, the availability of DLC map expansions and mod support remains uncertain. It's worth noting that TruckersMP, an unofficial multiplayer mod for the PC versions of the games, may not be ported to consoles.

For fans who have waited more than a decade, the open road is now much closer to home with the console releases. Console players will be able to experience the long-haul lifestyle that has kept PC fans engaged for over a decade. The console releases of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator mark the first time these games will be available on consoles.

Many fans speculate that the official announcement for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator on consoles will be made at the Gamescom 2025 event. This speculation is further fueled by the sudden appearance of the listings on both major console storefronts, suggesting an official announcement is imminent.

First launched in 2012 with Euro Truck Simulator 2, and 2016 for American Truck Simulator, these games have been staples in the simulation genre for years. The console releases promise to bring these beloved games to a wider audience, offering a unique blend of realism and relaxation that has captivated millions of players worldwide.
