Gathering at the local town hall, Chinese students convene for a meeting
In the heart of Stuttgart, the New Town Hall played host to a lively gathering as 28 students from Hangzhou, China, began their two-week visit to Germany. This marks the seventh time that students from these two countries have embarked on a cultural exchange, a tradition that has been upheld every two years since 2006.
The welcoming ceremony was graced by Mayor Peter Boch, who warmly welcomed the exchange students and teachers. The event took place in the grand foyer of the New Town Hall, a fitting venue for such a momentous occasion.
Accompanying the Chinese students were their counterparts from Kepler-Gymnasium, a school in Stuttgart, who were supervised by teachers Bernhard Fink von Rabenhorst and Kathrin Zimmermann. The identities of the students and teachers from Kepler-Gymnasium were not specified.
The second week of the exchange will see the groups venturing out to Heidelberg and Cologne. The first week, however, has been spent in Pforzheim, where the students have been staying with host families.
During their stay, the students have been actively participating in classes at Kepler-Gymnasium. They have also been immersing themselves in local culture, visiting attractions such as the Jewellery Worlds, Neuenbürg Castle, the Mercedes-Benz Museum, and the summer festival of Kepler-Gymnasium.
While the exact date of the visit is not provided, it is clear that this comprehensive student exchange program offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and learning. Although specific information about the schools involved was not found, recurring educational exchanges of this nature often involve partner schools from Germany and France, sometimes coordinated by the Deutsch-Französisches Jugendwerk (DFJW).
It is worth noting that this archived article may not contain current contact information. The students participating in this exchange are in the 10th grade.
This exchange serves as a testament to the enduring bond between Germany and China, fostering cultural understanding and promoting educational exchange. As the students continue their journey, they will undoubtedly carry with them memories of this enriching experience.
