Gathering in Dusseldorf: Encounters with Contenders for Federal Parliament Positions

On Sunday, February 16, eight Düsseldorf politicians will serve a meal at grenzenlos, a social institution in Bilk that has been promoting economic hardship and cultural participation since 1998. The event, titled "Democratic Dialogue on Site," aims to illuminate the political positions of the candidates and give voters the opportunity to direct their questions and concerns to the politicians.

Over 400,000 guests have visited grenzenlos since it opened its doors with a first buffet for people with low income over 25 years ago. The event is organised by Bürger-Interessengemeinschaft Garath (BIG) and the Heimatverein Garather Jonges.

Confirmed participants include Dr. Lida Azarnoosh (FDP), Adis Selimi (SPD), Sara Nanni (Alliance 90/The Greens), Lisa Schubert (The Left), Frances Noltekuhlemann (VOLT), and Johannes Winkel (CDU). However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr. Winkel has cancelled his participation, and a replacement is being sought.

On the menu will be a vegetarian leek soup, Indian chicken (with a vegetarian option), fragrant rice, salad, and dessert. The event is open to guests who can pay 3 euros for grenzenlos members and 6 euros for other guests, with donations welcome. Depending on demand, registration does not guarantee on-site participation, and a live stream may be referred to.

Following the meal, on Monday, February 17, at 5 PM (doors open at 4 PM), there will be a podium discussion about the federal election at an unspecified location. The panel discussion will take place at the Arenasaal of Kulturhaus Süd in Garath on Wednesday, February 19, at 7 PM. The topics will be socially just climate protection, education policy, and the debt brake.

Leonie Prinzen will moderate the discussion, which aims to promote political diversity and provide a space for people in Garath and the surrounding area to actively participate in democratic processes. The search results do not provide the names of the CDU and Left party Bundestag candidates participating in the podium discussion on February 19 at Kulturhaus Süd in Düsseldorf.

grenzenlos offers cultural and social participation opportunities, such as exhibitions, concerts, and readings, in addition to meals. The event is a unique opportunity for citizens to have a direct exchange with Bundestag candidates from democratic parties.
