Gathering of Iconic Artifacts: The First World War's Firing Gun, Hemingway's Typewriter, Captain Scott's Snow Goggles, and Sgt Pepper's Drum
The StART art fair is set for a new beginning as it moves to its new location at the Town Hall, King's Cross, London WC1. The change of venue will be effective from 2024.
The move comes with an exciting lineup of exhibitions, starting with the Holy Relics, which promises to be a fascinating exploration of objects that have shaped our world. This exhibition will run concurrently with the art fair from October 7-13.
Holy Relics is curated by renowned photographer Rick Guest, who boasts a diverse clientele including the English National Opera and Ferrari. The exhibition features an eclectic mix of objects and images, ranging from Lord Byron's gold-and-enamel dip pen and Sir Henry Moore's chisels to sporting-themed pictures like Lewis Hamilton's steering wheel and the stopwatch used to clock Roger Bannister's four-minute mile in 1954.
Music enthusiasts will find the exhibition particularly intriguing, as it features many images on a musical theme, including various microphones used at Abbey Road by The Beatles and Kate Bush. Notable items include several microphones used by The Beatles during their recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios.
The exhibition also includes more historical objects, such as the gun used to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand and T. S. Eliot's fountain pen.
Rick Guest, a photographer with a storied career, has shot portraits all around the world. Several of his images are hanging in the National Portrait Gallery. For more details about the 'Holy Relics' exhibition, visit www.startkx.com.
