Georgia secures $300 million in investments for manufacturing and logistics sectors
In a series of significant developments, Georgia is attracting over $300 million in investments from global companies, solidifying its position as a key player in logistics and manufacturing.
One of the notable investments comes from JS Link America, a unit of South Korea-based JS Link. The company, which is investing $223 million, has chosen Columbus, Georgia, for a 130,000-square-foot rare earth permanent magnet plant. The plant, slated to open in late 2027, is expected to generate 520 jobs and produce 3,000 tons of rare earth permanent magnets annually.
Jun Y. Lee, the CEO of JS Link America Inc., is overseeing the project. Lee cited Georgia's tax climate and skilled workforce as key draws for the investment.
Meanwhile, cold storage specialists Ti Cold and Karis Cold have broken ground on a $60 million PermaCold Logistics facility in Darien. The 421,000-square-foot facility, about an hour from the Port of Savannah and located off I-95 in Tidewaters Industrial Park, will hold more than 30,000 pallets and add 50 jobs.
Darren Bradshaw, senior vice president of Mopar North America, made a statement about the investment in a news release, highlighting it as part of Stellantis' long-term growth strategy. Stellantis is also investing $41 million in a new Mopar Parts Distribution Center in Forsyth, Georgia, which is expected to create 90 jobs and expand their U.S. parts distribution network.
These investments are not isolated incidents. They are part of a broader trend that strengthens Georgia's reputation as a hub for logistics and manufacturing. The new center and the Mopar Parts Distribution Center are just the latest in a series of announcements that underscore Georgia's appeal to global companies.
The investments from Stellantis, JS Link America, and PermaCold Logistics are all contributing to Georgia's economic growth and job creation, further solidifying its position as a key player in the logistics and manufacturing sectors.
