German authorities have decided to shut down operations on Thursday, 11th September.

The County of Gütersloh will be the location for this year's nationwide Civil Defense Drill, taking place on Thursday, 11th of September, 2025. This annual event aims to ensure comprehensive information of the population in case of an emergency and to raise awareness about warnings.

The drill is conducted to test the technical functionality of warning systems. During the drill, the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance will trigger a test alarm. At 11 a.m., a three-part tone sequence will be played, consisting of all-clear and warning signals with pauses in between.

The all-clear will be broadcast around 11:45 a.m. via various warning channels and end devices, including sirens, the modular warning system (MoWaS), radio stations, app servers, warning apps like NINA, and mobile network providers using the Cell-Broadcast system.

In addition to the traditional sirens, mobile network providers will transmit warning messages directly to mobile phones via SMS. General information about the nationwide Civil Defense Drill can be found at [www.bbk.bund.de/bundesweiter-warntag].

Feedback can be given during the Civil Defense Drill at [www.warntag-umfrage.de] to track the success of the warning in different areas. It is important to note that the drill is part of a regular annual event, and the purpose of the drill is to ensure the population is well-informed and prepared in case of an actual emergency.

During the drill, the director of the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) will trigger the test alarm. However, the name of the director is not explicitly named in the search results available. For more information, please visit the official website provided.
