German conglomerates Deutsche Bank, Siemens Energy, Rheinmetall, and several others officially confirmed their status
In a series of announcements, several changes have been made to various European stock indices, with some companies being added and others being removed.
Rheinmetall, a German defence and automotive company, will join the Stoxx Europe 50 index, effective from an unspecified date. This addition comes as part of a rebalancing of the index, which aims to reflect the changes and growth in the European market.
On the other hand, a number of companies are being removed from the Stoxx Europe 600 index. These include Carl Zeiss Meditec, Gerresheimer, and Redcare Pharmacy, as well as Computacenter (UK), Embracer Group (Sweden), Banca Popolare di Sondrio (Italy), and Verallia (France). The removal of these companies is to make room for new additions like Zegona Communications, a UK-based telecommunications company, and others.
Zegona Communications will also be joining the Stoxx Europe 600 index, while the IT conglomerate Assenco Poland will be added to the Stoxx Eastern Europe 50 index.
The Polish energy conglomerate PGE (Polska Grupa Energetyczna) will also be added to the Stoxx Eastern Europe 50 index, while the Polish retail companies CCC and Zabaka Group will be removed from the same index.
In the Euro Stoxx 50 index, Stellantis and Pernod Ricard will be removed effective from September 22, 2025. Deutsche Bank, however, will be added to the same index on the same date. Nokia will also be removed from the Euro Stoxx 50 index, effective from September 22, 2025.
Argenx, a Belgian biotechnology company, will be added to the Euro Stoxx 50 index, effective from September 22, 2025.
Mercedes-Benz will be removed from the Stoxx Europe 50 index, effective from an unspecified date. Unicaja Banco, a Spanish banking group, will be added to the Stoxx Europe 600 index.
Fraport, a German airport operator, will be added to the Stoxx Europe 600 index, while Siemens Energy will be added to the Euro Stoxx 50 index, effective from September 22, 2025.
Finally, Kion, ProSiebenSat.1, Redcare Pharmacy, Rheinmetall, TeamViewer, and Thyssenkrupp are under review for potential inclusion or removal from the DAX index. Gerresheimer, a German pharmaceutical and healthcare company, is in a state of transition and attempting to recover its stock.
These changes reflect the dynamic nature of the European market, with companies continually adapting and evolving to meet the demands of the ever-changing economic landscape.
