German poker player, Temin Joguncic, clinches second national championship, earning €2,500 and a spot in the European Championship.

Temin Joguncic, a 25-year-old employee of Casino Baden-Baden, has emerged victorious in the 2nd German Dealer Championship, held from 09.04.2024 to 11.04.2024. The competition featured the best dealers from Germany's licensed casinos.

Joguncic's road to victory was not easy, as he faced tough competition from Robin Stepanek from Stuttgart in the Baden-Württemberg final duel. However, Joguncic's skill and dedication shone through, as he took the overall victory by winning in both main events, American Roulette and Blackjack.

The championship was initially planned to crown a winner in each category, but both were valued equally in the end, as they were last year. Joguncic received 2,500 euros in prize money for his win, while Stepanek received 2,000 euros for finishing in second place, and Alina Ptak from Berlin, who was the best woman in the competition, received 1,500 euros for coming in third place.

Joguncic's win at the German Dealer Championship has earned him and Stepanek a place to represent Germany and Baden-Württemberg at the European Dealer Championship in Venlo, Netherlands, which will take place from 03.06.2024 to 06.06.2024.

Becoming a croupier in Germany typically involves completing specialized training, possibly obtaining a gaming license, and securing employment in a casino or related venue. Many casinos or private training academies in Germany offer courses to teach the required skills such as dealing casino games (roulette, blackjack, poker, etc.) and customer service.

Joguncic himself has been a dealer for six years, starting as a student assistant. He expressed being overwhelmed after winning the championship. Tobias Wald, managing director of Baden-Württembergische Spielbanken GmbH & Co. KG, expressed his excitement about Joguncic and Stepanek's participation in the European Championship.

The championships were reported in the Badische Neueste Nachrichten.
