Daniel Perkusic Wins the 2024 WSOP $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha Event
In a thrilling finale at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2024 in Las Vegas, Daniel Perkusic clinched victory in the $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event, securing his first WSOP bracelet and a substantial first-place prize of $2,100,325 (€1,940,322.24).
Perkusic, who hails from the DACH region, entered the tournament on the second day with fewer chips than his opponents. However, he displayed remarkable resilience, outlasting a field of 131 players to emerge victorious.
The final table was a star-studded affair, with Perkusic facing off against Danny Tang, Jim Collopy, Ronald Keijzer, and Santhosh Suvarna. Perkusic's journey to the top was not without drama, as he eliminated Suvarna with a powerful hand of Ac-Ah-6c-8s on a flop of Jh-8s-5h.
The battle between Perkusic and Tang was intense, with both players vying for the lead. Tang held the early advantage, but Perkusic caught up with a full house, a hand he played against Tang with As-Ks-9c-2c on a board of Kc-9c-6c. Tang was eliminated shortly after, with As-Jh-10c-8c on a board of 2c-10h-Qs-Qh-Jc.
Jim Collopy finished in third place, earning $973,882 (€899,691.67). Perkusic took the lead into the heads-up against Tang and never looked back, sealing his historic victory.
With this win, Perkusic moved up to 23rd on the PGT rankings. It's worth noting that, prior to his 2024 WSOP win, Perkusic's career and achievements were not widely documented. However, his victory has catapulted him into the spotlight, and he is now a force to be reckoned with in the poker world.
