Girard-Perregaux unveils a revamped Laureato Skeleton model, now fashioned in black ceramic - however, the acquisition remains elusive
Girard-Perregaux has unveiled a limited-edition masterpiece, the Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition. This collaboration between Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux and British automaker Aston Martin brings together the finest Swiss watchmaking and British racing heritage, with only 88 pieces available worldwide.
Design and Aesthetics
The Laureato Skeleton Aston Martin Edition boasts a 42mm black ceramic case, seven times harder than steel, with a thickness of about 11.13mm. The case, bracelet, and octagonal bezel are all crafted from this robust material, giving the watch a sleek and modern look.
The dial and caseback of the watch are open-worked, revealing the intricate in-house GP01800-2627 automatic movement. This movement, with a diameter of 30mm and a height of 4.16mm, houses 173 components and 25 jewels. It operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of 54 hours. The movement is adorned with 55 hand-crafted internal angles, a black PVD-treated mainplate and bridges, and a skeletonized pink gold rotor treated with green PVD, echoing Aston Martin Racing Green.
Dial Details
The dial of the watch features green PVD-treated hour markers with green luminescent material, skeletonized baton-type hands with green lume, and a small green skeletonized seconds hand at 10 o'clock. These details reflect Aston Martin's racing colours, adding a touch of sporty elegance to the watch.
Sapphire Crystal and Water Resistance
The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on the front, while the caseback features a sapphire crystal with a metallized Aston Martin logo. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters (10 ATM), making it suitable for everyday wear.
Comfort and Style
The watch is paired with an integrated black rubber strap, emphasising sporty elegance and comfort. This strap ensures that the watch remains securely on the wrist while providing a comfortable fit.
