Gladiator sequel hinted by Ridley Scott, along with a film centered around the Battle of Britain unveiled.

Renowned filmmaker Ridley Scott, at the age of 87, continues to make waves in the industry with his latest and upcoming projects.

Currently, Scott is working on a sci-fi adaptation called The Dog Stars, based on Peter Heller's novel of the same name. Starring Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley, and Josh Brolin, the film is scheduled for release in March 2026. The Dog Stars was filmed in Italy earlier this year and presents a post-apocalyptic setting in the wake of a deadly pandemic.

Scott's next project is expected to be a war film about the Battle of Britain, a pivotal moment in World War II. The film, which is yet to have a confirmed title, is based on a screenplay by Joe Penhall, known for his work on Mindhunter. Scott has hinted at a possible return to the Halifax area for this project, where he shot five Hovis advertisements in the 1970s. His first advertisement was shot up near Halifax, in a mining town.

Interestingly, Scott also mentioned Gladiator III in a recent interview, stating that the sequel is "in process". However, no new information about the project was provided.

Meanwhile, Scott's Bee Gees biopic, titled You Should Be Dancing, was previously said to be shooting this autumn but has been pushed back. The film is among other projects Scott has in the works.

It's worth noting that the Battle of Britain movie has replaced the previously scheduled Bee Gees biopic in Scott's current schedule. The upcoming war film is expected to be hugely expensive and complex, reflecting Scott's ambitious approach to filmmaking.

The Hovis advertisements Scott shot in the 1970s were considered classics and were played on British television for years. Scott's history with the Halifax area dates back to these advertisements, making a potential return to the region significant.

As of now, there is no publicly available information or updates specifically about the current production status of Ridley Scott's "Battle of Britain" film. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project and Scott's other upcoming films.
