World Free Zones Organization to Host 12th Annual Congress in Panama City

The World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) has announced that the 12th annual World FZO World Congress will take place in Panama City, Panama, in July 2026. This significant event for outreach to Latin American markets marks a key milestone in the World FZO's efforts to expand its influence on the international stage.

The announcement follows the back-to-back hosting of the Congress in both China and Panama, reflecting the growing momentum of the World FZO. The upcoming Congress in Panama is expected to strengthen Panama's global standing as a hub for trade and logistics and enhance its visibility on the international investment map.

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed AlZarooni, Chairman of the World FZO, and His Excellency Julio Moltó, Minister of Commerce and Industries at the Government of the Republic of Panama, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deliver a high-caliber edition of the World FZO World Congress. The MoU aims to bring together decision-makers and high-level representatives from global industry, trade, and investment sectors.

During an official visit led by Dr. AlZarooni to Panama City, the signing took place, and the delegation toured key sites in Panama, including the Colón Free Trade Zone, PANAPARK Free Zone, and the Panama Canal. H.E. Dr. AlZarooni stated that the cooperation with the government of Panama represents a key milestone in the World FZO's efforts to outreach to Latin American markets.

H.E. Julio Moltó also expressed his excitement, stating that hosting the Congress represents a strategic step that highlights Panama's position as a global investment gateway. The Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs is the government official responsible for organizing the 12th World FZO World Congress in Panama City in July 2026.

The 12th annual World FZO World Congress will attract over 1,500 delegates from more than 100 countries. The event is the premier gathering for freezone leaders, government officials, investors, and trade experts. Preparations are continuing for the 11th World FZO Congress, set to take place in Hainan province, China, from 10-12 October 2025. The Congress in Panama follows the 11th World FZO Congress, which will set the stage for the organisation's continued growth and influence on the international stage.
