Goldman Sachs Asset Management has announced a significant move in the asset management industry with the acquisition of NN Investment Partners, a deal expected to be finalized at the beginning of next year.

The new CEO of NN Investment Partners, recently acquired by Goldman Sachs, is David Knibbe. Meanwhile, Sven Weddermann, an experienced sales expert with extensive knowledge and experience in the investment business with banks, has joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Weddermann, who was previously employed at Deutsche Bank, has taken up the role of Executive Director of Retail Client Business in the Wholesale Banking division at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Oliver Rahe, the head of private client business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, explains that the acquisition of NN Investment Partners will significantly expand their product range and expertise. The acquisition is expected to bring additional expertise to Goldman Sachs Asset Management, particularly in European equities and bonds, multi-asset strategies, and ESG strategies.

This strategic move by Goldman Sachs Asset Management aims to strengthen its position in the asset management industry and to double its customer base. The company's asset management platform has grown significantly in the last year, and the acquisition of NN Investment Partners is a continuation of this growth.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management is significantly strengthening its team of contact partners with the acquisition. Sven Weddermann's appointment as an experienced sales expert is part of this strategy, as the company seeks to build stronger relationships with its clients.

The acquisition of NN Investment Partners will also increase Goldman Sachs Asset Management's expertise in ESG strategies, a growing area of focus in the investment industry. The company is committed to integrating ESG considerations into its investment decisions and is investing in resources to support this effort.

As the deal is not yet complete, the full impact of the acquisition is yet to be seen. However, with the addition of NN Investment Partners' expertise and product range, Goldman Sachs Asset Management is poised for continued growth in the asset management industry.
