Golf champion Scottie Scheffler triumphantly showcases the Claret Jug amidst a whirlwind tour of New York, making appearances on The Tonight Show and the premiere of Happy Gilmore 2.
Scottie Scheffler, the current World No. 1, has added another remarkable chapter to his golfing career. Following his triumph at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, Scheffler made a special appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon before attending the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere.
Scheffler's performance at The Open Championship was near-perfect, securing him the Claret Jug and marking the third leg of a career Grand Slam. After his victory, he walked on stage with the Claret Jug in hand on The Tonight Show, much to the delight of the audience. An image of him hitting an iron shot was also shown during the segment.
Jimmy Fallon took the opportunity to formally introduce Scheffler, who received a standing ovation. The golfer, ever the sportsman, embraced his wife Meredith and son Bennett before leaving the show to attend the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere.
At the premiere, Scheffler was joined by several other golfing greats, including Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa, Michelle Wie, John Daly, Jim Furyk, and Fred Couples. The Claret Jug, fresh from its appearance on The Tonight Show, was also present, posing for photos and meeting with several members of the Happy Gilmore 2 cast.
As the FedEx Cup Playoffs approach, Scheffler will return home to Texas before preparing for the defense of his Tour Championship title in the revamped format. The two weeks leading up to the FedEx St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind, scheduled between August 7-10, will see several regular PGA Tour events.
In addition to golfing legends like Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris, Paige Spiranac, Nelly Korda, Nancy Lopez, Verne Lundquist, and Jack Nicklaus, Scheffler will also make a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2.
Despite his busy schedule, Scheffler took a moment to share a selfie with the audience during his appearance on The Tonight Show, offering a glimpse into the life of one of golf's brightest stars.
