Vietnamese Golfers Shine in National Championship

Lê Chúc An and Nguyen Tuan Anh, two rising stars in Vietnamese golf, have once again proven their mettle by securing impressive victories in the National Golf Championship.

Lê Chúc An, the current No. 1 in the women's category, successfully defended her title on August 22 in Gia Lai Province. She wrapped up the day at 4-under 68, with a strong performance that included birdies in the first, third, seventh, and 10th holes, as well as an eagle in the fifth par-5 hole. This marks her third consecutive victory in the National Championship, making history as the first golfer from the websiteese to achieve this feat.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Tuan Anh, who won the championship at the age of 14, secured his first title in the men's side. His journey to the top was not easy, as he had to face a play-off against Truong Chi Quan. In the decisive 18th hole, Nguyen Tuan Anh added another birdie, while Truong Chi Quan suffered a bogey, giving the championship title to the young prodigy.

Nguyen Tuan Anh's victory comes after a series of impressive performances. He previously finished third in the National Golf Championship in 2023 and second last year. His resume includes victories in the Vietnam Junior Open, Faldo Series, and Asia Grand Final in 2025.

Truong Chi Quan, who led points in the play-off with five birdies and one eagle, had to settle for second place. Anna Le finished third with a gross score of 11-over 299, while Nguyễn Việt Gia Hàn came second with a gross score of 7-over 295.

Lê Chúc An, expressing her happiness with the victory, stated that it serves as a strong motivation for her ahead of international competitions later this year. She plans to participate in two events ahead of the 33rd SEA Games as key warm-ups for the Thailand Games.
