In the heart of Krasnodar Krai, the "Southern" agro-firm, a key player in the region's wine industry, is flourishing. Spanning over 7,200 hectares, the productive vineyards of the "Southern" agro-firm are a testament to the region's ideal climate for grape cultivation.

Recently, the regional head, Vladimir Kondratyev, paid a visit to the "Southern" agro-firm in Tamansky rural settlement. Accompanied by Yuri Burlaั‡ะบะพ, the Chairman of the Regional Legislative Assembly, and Andrei Korobka, the Vice-Governor of Kuban, Kondratyev toured the facilities and the student campus at the "Chateau Tamagne" enology center.

The unique climate in Krasnodar Krai allows for the cultivation of all major technical grape varieties, making it a prime location for wine production. In fact, over a third of all domestic grapes are grown in the Krasnodar region, according to Kondratyev.

The "Southern" agro-firm is committed to maintaining the region's distinctive taste in its wines. They use local saplings, which are grafted and produced in-house, with over 2 million saplings produced last year meeting international quality standards. The nursery, managed by Zhanna Belovol, produces around 5.5 million saplings a year.

The grape processing line at the "Chateau Tamagne" enology center has a capacity of 2,200 tons per shift. This year, they have already harvested 35 tons of grapes, with an expected total yield of 90,000 tons.

The visit also included discussions on attracting young specialists and applying new scientific developments in sapling production and grape cultivation. The enterprise plans to host over 80 trainees from universities and colleges across the country in 2024, with a total of 250 by the end of 2025.

Tours at the "Chateau Tamagne" enology center are conducted to promote wine tourism, offering visitors a glimpse into the wine-making process. The region produces approximately 23.3 million decaliters of wine products annually, making it a significant contributor to Russia's wine industry.

The "Southern" agro-firm has also planted 350 hectares of new vineyards, expanding its footprint in the region's viticulture. With a total plantation area of 32,500 hectares for viticulture in Krasnodar Krai, the future of wine production in the region looks promising.
