Green efforts bolstered once more as the Environmental Initiative continues backing environmentally-friendly neighborhood projects in Bremen.
The Swb Environmental Initiative, launched by Swb, an energy service provider in Bremen, is inviting applications for climate and environmental projects focused on 2024. This ongoing program aims to support projects that benefit the Bremen population, environment, and climate.
The independent jury deciding on funding for the 2024 projects is the "Council of Environmental Experts." The jury consists of representatives from the environmental authority, the Bremen consumer center, BUND Bremen, and swb AG.
Projects should be creative, non-profit, and not solely for individual private persons. They should aim to make a positive impact on the environment and climate, and involve as many people as possible. The focus areas for projects include urban gardening, environmental education, creation of green and leisure areas, mobility solutions, waste reduction, or climate improvement.
To be eligible for funding, projects should not be already completed or part of existing projects. Transparent and detailed cost breakdowns are required for funding applications. It's important to note that funding applications should not include transport, accommodation, rent, cleaning, or catering costs.
Applications for the Swb Environmental Initiative can be submitted at www.swb.de/umweltinitiative. The deadline for the next round of applications is September 15, 2024.
The final decision on funding is made by the skilled and independent jury. The jury will evaluate applications after the deadline for submission, and the best ideas will be rewarded with a sponsorship commitment. The funding for projects should be in reasonable proportion to the effort made.
