The Police Inspectorate Heidekreis has issued a reminder to all drivers of vehicles with insurance plates, advising them to obtain a follow-up insurance ahead of the new insurance year, which begins on March 1, 2025.
According to Tarek Gibbah, responsible for press affairs at the Police Supervisory Office Heidekreis, this reminder is aimed at avoiding potential negative consequences. Drivers who continue to drive a motor vehicle with expired insurance coverage and are stopped by the police can expect a report.
The current insurance plates for vehicles such as mopeds, e-scooters, and S-Pedelecs are blue, but from March 1, 2025, they will no longer be valid. The change in colour of the insurance plates is meant to make the insurance coverage recognizable from the outside. The new plates will be green.
