"Gromor Retail Store Number 1000 by Coromandel International Now Open for Business"
In a significant step towards promoting precision agriculture and sustainable farming practices, Coromandel International Limited, an Indian agri-solutions provider, has inaugurated its 1000th Gromor retail store in Kashti Village, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra. The new outlet, named Apla Gromor, is located in the Kashti-Shrigonda belt.
The Apla Gromor store serves as a demonstration hub for digital farming solutions, offering farmers transparent pricing, doorstep delivery, and IoT-enabled farm advisory services. The store also boasts a comprehensive portfolio of agri-inputs and services.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman of Coromandel International, expressed his pride in reaching the milestone of 1000 'My Gromor' stores. He noted that this expansion reinforces Coromandel's commitment to enhancing farm productivity and supporting rural prosperity.
The MyGromor app, a digital solution, is a key component of the Apla Gromor store. This app offers farm-specific advisory, product pricing, and image-based pest and disease detection. With over 1 million users and driving 15% of store sales, the app is a testament to the digital transformation Coromandel is spearheading in the agricultural sector.
Coromandel started its Rural Retail centers under the "My Gromor" brand in 2007 and has since expanded to become one of the largest rural retail chains in India, serving over 3 million farmers. The network currently includes states across India, with 766 stores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 195 in Karnataka, 23 in Tamil Nadu, and 16 in Maharashtra.
Looking ahead, Coromandel plans to double its network over the next 2 years, further deepening its farmer connect and creating sustainable value for rural communities. The company has also announced plans to open 20 more Gromor stores in the Pune district, including five near Kashti.
The Apla Gromor store is a significant step in Coromandel's mission to help farmers embrace precision agriculture and move towards more sustainable and resilient farming practices. The store showcases tools such as the MyGromor app, remote advisory, and image-based pest and disease identification, providing farmers with the resources they need to thrive in the modern agricultural landscape.
The event was attended by Mr. Arun Alagappan and Mr. S. Sankarasubramanian, Executive Chairman and Managing Director & CEO of Coromandel International Limited respectively. The opening of the 1000th 'My Gromor' center in Maharashtra strengthens Coromandel's footprint in the state and marks a new chapter in its journey towards empowering farmers and driving rural development.
