Experience the outdoors like never before at TourNatur, the trade fair dedicated to travel destinations and equipment for outdoor enthusiasts. Taking place from September 6 to 8 in Hall 6 of the Düsseldorf trade fair grounds, this year's event promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of nature.
Visitors can explore the most beautiful nature destinations, with over 100 of these destinations located in Germany, ranging from the coast to the Alps. The German Alpine Association (DAV) will be present with a climbing tower, offering a chance to test your skills.
But TourNatur is not just about physical challenges. The Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, or forest bathing, will also be featured. This traditional practice encourages immersing oneself in nature for relaxation, inner peace, and a potential boost to the immune system, rather than hiking for sport.
Eifel-Ardennen-Marketing will showcase the most beautiful places to stay in the open natural area, including a climbing castle. Meanwhile, Ralf-Stefan Beppler will lead a consulting center at the fair, providing expertise in outdoor activities.
For those planning their next nature-focused vacation, TourNatur offers a wealth of information. Visitors can learn about diverse nature parks, gather travel information for nearby and distant destinations, and even discover hidden gems through photo booths, digital tables, and stories from regions, all presented in a nature-friendly way.
The shift towards hiking and outdoor activities may be due to concerns about mass tourism and its impact on the environment, as well as discussions about climate change and the necessity of air travel. More vacationers are seeking stress relief through extensive forest walks, which are abundant in Germany due to its 11.4 million hectares of forest and 90 billion trees.
The German youth movement, known as "Wandervogel," initiated by students of bourgeois origin seeking freedom in nature over a century ago, played a significant role in this resurgence. It led to the development of reform pedagogy and the FKK movement.
If you're a fan of outdoor adventures, TourNatur is the place to be. But that's not all! The "Caravan Salon Düsseldorf," the world's largest trade fair for motorhomes and caravans, takes place parallel to TourNatur. A combined ticket for both events costs just 15 euros.
So, whether you're a seasoned explorer or just starting your outdoor journey, TourNatur 2019 promises an exciting and enriching experience. Come and sensitize yourself to nature, discover new destinations, and reconnect with the great outdoors.
