The Houston Texans, fresh off a successful 2024 campaign that saw them clinch the AFC South title and a playoff victory, are preparing for a tougher 2025 season.

With the AFC South expected to be more competitive, the Texans will need to work harder to rack up divisional wins. Their win total for the upcoming season has been set at 9.5 across all top sportsbooks.

The Texans' schedule for 2025 includes a first-place schedule, as well as matchups against the NFC West and AFC West, which are unlikely to be pushovers for the team.

To help navigate this tough schedule, the Texans have brought in Nick Caley as their new offensive coordinator. Caley, who previously served as a tight ends coach for the Rams, played a key role in their 10th-ranked net yards per pass attempt in 2024.

However, the Texans' offensive line will look almost entirely different in 2025, following trades of Laremy Tunsil to the Commanders and Kenyon Green to Philadelphia. This leaves several question marks on the line.

On the bright side, the Texans have added several players at various positions through trades, free agency, and the draft for the 2025 season. Notably, they drafted Iowa State teammates Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel on Day 2 of the draft.

The Texans' defense, which finished 14th in scoring in 2024 and allowed less than 212 total yards in the Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs, has the potential to make a run at being the best in football, thanks to an excellent edge rush.

Unfortunately, quarterback C.J. Stroud took a step back in 2024. His passing yards are now under bet at FanDuel, with a total of 3,800.5 yards. The Texans have also parted ways with Stefon Diggs and added Christian Kirk to the roster.

Veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is the only new starter joining the Texans' defense. Tank Dell, who was injured late in 2024, is aiming to return for 2025.

The Texans' odds for their 2025 win total, Super Bowl, and playoff appearances are available at top sportsbooks. After their strong performance in 2023, where they won both the AFC South and a playoff game, fans will be eager to see how the team fares in the challenging 2025 season.
