Gun attack on bakery, two suspects apprehended.
In a shocking turn of events, an armed robbery took place at a bakery in Schorndorf, Cham district, on August 14th, at 4:15 PM. The Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that a 20-year-old individual, suspected of being the robber, threatened a saleswoman with a folding knife during the incident. However, the robber did not manage to obtain any cash.
The suspect, along with a 22-year-old accomplice, fled the scene in a white compact car. An attentive witness managed to record the license plate number, which proved crucial in the subsequent investigation.
Thanks to the recorded license plate number, the police were able to quickly trace the suspects and arrest them later that same evening at their residence. The suspects, who are German nationals, were arrested and brought before the Regensburg District Court on the same day as the robbery.
The Investigating Judge issued an arrest warrant for the suspects, but despite this, they were released on bail. The details regarding the bail conditions have not been disclosed.
Despite the arrest, no further details about the current status of the stolen cash or the suspects have been provided. The location of the court proceedings was in Regensburg, and it is not explicitly mentioned which police authority arrested the two suspects and temporarily released them on bail.
The Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office has made a request for the suspects to appear in court, but the date for the next court proceedings has not been announced. The public will continue to await updates on this ongoing case.
