Gunfight erupts at Brooklyn's public housing estate; police in pursuit of the shooter
In the early hours of Saturday, September 6, a shooting incident took place at the Brevoort Houses public housing complex, located at 309 Patchen Ave., Bedford-Stuyvesant.
The 19-year-old victim was found with a gunshot wound to his right thigh. The shooting occurred inside a building's second-floor hallway. Emergency services swiftly arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD, along with PSA 3, responded to the location of the shooting. However, no publicly available information has been released about who allegedly injured the young man. The suspected shooter is described as a male wearing all gray clothing. After the incident, the suspect is reported to have fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The police department involved in the investigation is the NYPD. As of now, no arrests have been made in the case. The motive for the shooting is currently unknown and under investigation.

It's worth noting that, through Aug. 31, the 81st Precinct had reported 10 shootings, a decrease of 28.6% compared to the 14 shootings at the same point in 2024.
