In a tragic incident that unfolded on Monday morning, a shooting attack took place at the Ramot Junction in occupied East Jerusalem. The attack left at least five Israelis dead and fifteen others wounded, with five of the wounded currently in critical condition.
According to reports, two militant Palestinians opened fire at a bus stop, resulting in the devastating attack. Both attackers were subsequently killed on the scene by an Israeli security officer and a civilian.
Israeli authorities have raised the security alert across Jerusalem following the attack. As a precautionary measure, all entry points into the city were temporarily shut down, and roads leading to the area were closed. Reinforcements were also deployed to maintain order and ensure the safety of the public.
Israel's Channel 12 reported that the attackers used a makeshift "Carlo" submachine gun, modeled after the Swedish Carl Gustav design. This information, however, has not been independently verified.
