Gütersloh International's 48th Festival: Vibrant, melodious, and culturally diverse
Get ready for a cultural extravaganza as Guetersloh International makes its debut over two days in 2025! This annual event, which has been a cherished tradition in the city for over four decades, will take place on the 6th and 7th of September.
The festival will officially commence at 2:30 pm on Saturday, with a host of performances by folklore, music, and dance groups from around the globe. These groups hail from countries as diverse as Turkey, Greece, Spain, Albania, Portugal, Thailand, Ukraine, Romania, Gambia, Bulgaria, Russia, and Germany. The performances will take place on the Sparkassen stage.
The theme for Guetersloh International in 2025 is "Living Together in Guetersloh", a testament to the city's commitment to fostering mutual understanding between people of different cultural backgrounds. The event is organised and coordinated by Frank Mertens and his dedicated team.
Aside from the captivating performances, visitors can look forward to a plethora of culinary delights. More than 40 stands around the city hall will offer a variety of food from around the world, including delicacies from the Iranian cultural association, "Bridge of Diversity", German Rostbratwurst, and Italian ice cream.
For those with younger ones in tow, a children's area near the water tower will provide entertainment options such as a bouncy castle and a mini train.
On Saturday, the program will also be hosted by candidates for the integration election. Informative stands, such as the evangelical church's asylum working group, Gambia aid, and the city of Guetersloh's integration council, will provide information about their work and the upcoming integration council elections on Sunday, 14th September.
The Serpil-Neuhaus support association and Marcel Duman with his students on the oriental guitar (Saz) will also perform during the event.
On Sunday, the festivities continue from 12 pm to 7 pm. This year marks the 200th anniversary of the city of Guetersloh, making the celebration even more special.
For more information about the program, please visit the Guetersloh International website. The candidate for the integration elections appearing as a moderator on the stage of Guetersloh International on Saturday, September 6, 2025, is not specified in the available information.
We hope to see you there as we celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make Guetersloh such a vibrant and diverse city!
