In a chilling development, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, one of the hostages believed to be held in Gaza City, has appeared in a video that was geolocated by CNN to the conflict-ridden city. The video, filmed last week, shows Gilboa-Dalal in various locations around Gaza City, alongside another hostage, Alon Ohel, 22.

The video, released on the 700th day of the ongoing conflict, has raised concerns about the safety of the hostages and the potential for an impending assault on Gaza City, as Israel's military claims control over 40% of the city. Gilboa-Dalal, in the video, addresses the planned Israeli takeover and occupation, expressing his fear due to the presence of explosions and gunfire.

In the video, Gilboa-Dalal pleads for the return of the remaining 48 hostages, with 20 still believed to be alive. He also calls on Israelis to demonstrate against the government and demand an end to the war. Towards the end of the video, Gilboa-Dalal and Ohel embrace, appearing surprised to see each other.

Hamas, the ruling party in Gaza, has not confirmed the claim of eight additional hostages in Gaza City. CNN cannot confirm these claims either, and the identities of these individuals have not been publicly detailed by credible sources. Various diplomatic efforts, including U.S. proposals, seek the release of all remaining hostages, but specific information about these eight hostages has not been confirmed publicly.

Meanwhile, protests calling for a ceasefire deal and the release of hostages were held across Israel on this day. As the conflict in Gaza City continues to develop, the international community urges both sides to engage in dialogue and find a peaceful resolution to end the hostage crisis and the ongoing conflict.
