Hamburg, August 2025 - As the city slips into vacation mode, the cultural scene in Hamburg continues to thrive. From jazz festivals to fashion exhibitions, the city offers a diverse programme throughout the summer months.

The 30th edition of the Jazz Open, taking place on August 30 and 31, will mark a significant milestone. For the first time, the Hamburg Jazz Prize will be awarded. However, as of now, there are no publicly available search results reporting the winners of the Hamburger Jazz Prize at this year's event.

Meanwhile, music enthusiasts can look forward to the two-day festival at Planten un Blomen, featuring the NDR Bigband, blues, electronic acts, and more. The Elbphilharmonie Summer, running from August 15 to 31, promises a similar mix of genres, with performances by classical symphony orchestras, the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy, Seun Kuti, and Noname.

For those with an interest in fashion, the Museum fΓΌr Kunst und Gewerbe (MK&G) is a must-visit. The Parisian label XULY.Ξ²et's work is on display, focusing on recycled materials, bold colors, and prints. The exhibition explores questions about consumption, circular economy, and the limits of the fashion industry.

Outdoor in the Green at Planten un Blomen offers a variety of entertainment options until August 29. Concerts, live podcasts, readings, and stand-up comedy are all on the schedule, with artists such as Erobique, Max Prosa, and the Michalskis set to perform.

Elsewhere, the Africa Festival in Altona, held from August 22 to 24, celebrates Black Culture. Four music acts from Burkina Faso will perform, with the event focusing on the West African country.

The International Maritime Museum Hamburg and MK&G are two cultural attractions not to be missed. The former is currently hosting a new exhibition titled "Breaking the Surface. Women in Maritime Research," showcasing the work and findings of women in maritime research.

Lastly, the International Summer Festival at Kampnagel brings over 50 program points to life under the motto "Room to Dream" until August 24. With such a rich and varied cultural landscape, Hamburg is truly a city that never sleeps.
