Harris County cosmetics firm allegedly discarded coconut lotion into White Oak Bayou, according to court records

In a shocking turn of events, Immacule Lab, a cosmetics company based in northwest Harris County, is currently under criminal investigation for illegally dumping 100 gallons of coconut lotion. The incident, which occurred on April 7, 2025, was discovered in May after a community member spotted a white substance along Battle Oak Drive and took pictures.

The illegal dumping is alleged to have taken place into a sewage line leading to White Oak Bayou. The chemicals in the product are harmful to plants and animals, according to investigators, and the dumped lotion has been found to be still present in June.

The foul-smelling lotion has caused damage to nearby plants and poses a risk to drinking water, investigators claim. It could also clog stormwater systems, potentially causing further environmental harm.

Immacule Lab, a company that takes environmental protection seriously, regrets the accidental spill and promptly reported the incident to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the Harris County Pollution Control Services in June 2025. The company took immediate corrective action to clean the affected area and replant grass following the incident.

Enforcing pollution laws countywide is one of several unique responsibilities of Harris County Constable Precinct One Alan Rosen's agency. The agency's mission is to protect not only the residents of the county, but also its environment.

If you witness illegal dumping, you are encouraged to call the Pct. 1 hotline, 832-927-1567. The maximum punishment for the illegal dumping crime is 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

At the time of writing, the operator of Immacule Lab, associated with the illegal pollution of White Oak Bayou, is not publicly specified. The investigation is ongoing.
