Harsh Israel policies called for by the Greens

In an interview with the Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland, Luise Amtsberg, the Green Party's foreign policy spokesperson, has demanded urgent action from the German government to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Amtsberg's demands come in response to individual air drops of humanitarian aid, which she believes are insufficient to alleviate the severe humanitarian catastrophe in the region. She has urged real pressure on the Israeli government to improve the situation, suggesting the takeover of supply by the United Nations in Gaza.

Amtsberg has proposed stopping the delivery of weapons that can be used in Gaza as an initial step, and imposing further sanctions on settlers and ministers supporting settlement construction. However, she clarified that these demands do not involve criticism of the federal government's statement about slight advances in humanitarian aid for Gaza, nor do they involve further weapon delivery stoppage or sanctions on settlers and ministers, as previously stated.

Amtsberg has criticised the federal government's statement about slight advances in humanitarian aid for Gaza, calling it "cynical." She emphasised that the people in Gaza don't have time for another consultation phase with the Chancellery. Instead, she stressed that the federal government must act faster and more decisively.

Amtsberg has also suggested tying the demand for humanitarian access to clear measures, and insisting on the full opening of humanitarian access to Gaza. She accused the federal government of excessive hesitation in dealing with Israel, a criticism she has previously levelled.

Hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza cannot be reached due to the ongoing blockade of humanitarian supplies by the Israeli government and the continuing hostilities. Amtsberg's demands are not satisfied with the current situation in Gaza, and she has called on the German government to prioritise a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure unimpeded humanitarian aid access through land routes by the United Nations to alleviate the severe humanitarian catastrophe.
