Harvest festival joyously educates kindergartners about city agriculture
In the heart of Cologne, the Storytime Fairy, Maria Krücken, has been delighting kindergarten children with her enchanting tales. This September, she chose the theme of "Harvest Time" to educate young minds about the origin of their food.
The stories, presented at the kindergartens Maria Krücken cares for, are not digital or audio presentations but physical books. Each story is specifically designed for young children, making learning about the world around them an enjoyable experience.
The first story of the month was "Thank You, Little Apple", followed by "The Cool Bean", "Paul Pampelmuse Doesn't Want Vegetables", and "How Wheat Becomes Bread - Story Theater - For the Little Ones". The last story of the month was "Benny Blue Potatoes, Mushrooms".
Throughout the month, Maria Krücken encouraged visits to farm shops, expressing her belief that they are worthwhile for both young and old. She expressed her excitement about discovering what grows in the fields of the city and concluded her September storytime sessions with a wish for happy snacking.
Maria Krücken's stories aim to not only entertain but also educate. By focusing on the harvest, food, and the origin of food, she helps children understand where their meals come from, fostering a sense of appreciation for the food they consume.
As the months pass, Maria Krücken continues her regular storytime sessions, weaving magic and knowledge into the lives of the children she meets. Her enthusiasm for the world around her is contagious, making learning an adventure for all who listen to her tales.
