Harvest Thanksgiving Celebrations in Newkirchen-Vluyn's Local Community
Neukirchen's Harvest Festival Returns on September 20
Neukirchen is set to host its annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 20. This community event promises a diverse programme for all ages, with live music, activities, and local produce.
The local hunters' association is bringing the Rolling Forest School, while the Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Neukirchen is providing grilled food and drinks. For the first time this year, a carousel will be added to the festivities.
Younger guests (up to 14 years old) can participate in the children's flea market, and the city youth council is offering children's entertainment. The open-air cinema for children is set up on Grafschafter Platz to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
The tractor procession is a special highlight, starting at 12 pm in front of the cemetery. The stage for performances is located at the church, and in the breaks, a passionate DJ will provide musical accompaniment.
The show program includes Kunst(t)räume, the children's choir of the Kita Kranichstraße, Vlu-Ka-Ge, and a hosting duo. In the evening from 7 pm, the duo Sauvignon Blanc will perform cover songs with guitar and two-voice singing.
The harvest wreath will find its place in the community center after the ceremony, where the local farmers and the country women will hand over the harvest wreath to the deputy mayor Claudia Wilke and pastor Stefan Vogt in a short service around 12:30/1 pm. The country women are operating a popular café at the event.
Parking options in the village are limited, with even less space available this year due to an open-air cinema for children. Lineg is driving the water bus, making it an eco-friendly option to reach the festival.
The harvest festival has no commercial background and is carried by many volunteers, as stated by Thomas Stralka from the Heimat-und Verkehrsverein Neukirchen. The Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Neukirchen e.V. and the city marketing in the town hall invite guests to enjoy local products and regional specialties.
The festivities take place on Hochstraße, Bruchstraße, Mozartstraße, Grevenstraße, with approximately 50 stalls offering a mix of arts and crafts, small businesses, food, associations, and organizations.
Join us on September 20 for a day filled with fun, food, and community spirit at Neukirchen's Harvest Festival!
